Ideal Systems and Installation
The Aquatec ERP Series Permeate Pump is designed for residential and light commercial reverse osmosis systems with membranes rated between 10 and 100 gallons per day. It works effectively with inlet water pressures as low as 30 psi, making it ideal for homes with marginal water pressure or well water systems. The pump isolates the storage tank from the membrane, allowing the RO membrane to operate as if connected to an atmospheric tank system rather than fighting against back pressure. This hydraulic isolation eliminates the need for a traditional shut-off valve, as the pump automatically stops the system when the tank reaches line pressure. Compatible with standard 1/4 inch tubing used in most RO systems, the ERP pump installs between the membrane housing and storage tank. Best results are achieved when the pump is mounted vertically in a location protected from freezing.
