Setup Requirements
- Pre-wet the catalytic carbon media by submerging the cartridge in clean water for at least 12 hours before installation. This activates the carbon and removes fine particles.
- Test influent water for dissolved oxygen content. If below 4 mg/L, install an air injector upstream to ensure proper hydrogen sulfide oxidation.
- Insert the filter into a compatible 10-inch standard filter housing with O-ring seals. Flush system for 5 minutes to purge carbon fines before use.
- Replace cartridge every 1,500 gallons or when hydrogen sulfide odor returns, whichever comes first.
Applications & Housing Fit
This filter is a direct replacement for the Intelifil IF-SM-CG010 and fits all standard 10-inch x 2.5-inch filter housings from Watts, Pentair, Culligan, and other manufacturers. Suitable for whole-house applications targeting hydrogen sulfide removal, reverse osmosis pre-filtration where chloramines are present, and specialty point-of-use systems requiring VOC and pesticide reduction. The catalytic carbon media outperforms standard GAC in hydrogen peroxide and chloramine environments where conventional carbon fails to adequately reduce contaminants.
